Captains Drive-in & Garden County Semi-Final

Hi everyone, it’s another busy weekend in the club. Hopefully the weather plays ball across Saturday and Sunday. We have our Captains Drive in scramble. Best of luck to all taking part.

On Sunday at 2.30pm our Garden County team take on Tulfarris in the semifinal. All support would be greatly appreciated to help us get over the line and reach a third final in a row.

Garden County Trophy 2026

Ballymoney GC will begin their defence of the Garden County Trophy with a repeat of last years final against Arklow GC on Saturday February 7th.

As the current holders Ballymoney GC is responsible for running this year’s competition.

8 teams will compete in total. Teams will be split into two pools with the top 2 teams in each pool progressing to the semi finals. Pool A will feature Blainroe GC, Macreddin GC, Tulfarris GC and Woodenbridge GC. Pool B will contain Arklow GC, Ballymoney GC, Coolattin GC and Courtown GC.

Matches are contested in a foursomes match play format with 3 matches in both venues on each match day. Pairs must have a combined handicap index of at least 14 combined.

New players are always welcome to join the panel. The format generally suits players with a handicap index of 14 or lower. If interested in joining the panel please contact Richard Doyle on 087 6959262.

To be eligible for team selection/ panel, you must be a member of Ballymoney Golf Club. There are some requirements from Golf Ireland to be eligible to play. These can be explained once we have your interest sent in.

Well done to the lads who played Arklow this past weekend. A good showing, and 3 all draw is a good result given the conditions on the weekend.
